Use of cookies

A cookie is a text file that a web server places on your hard drive. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. A cookie is uniquely assigned to you and can only be read by a web server in the domain that sent you the cookie. A key purpose of cookies is to tell the web server that you have returned to a specific web page, so that you can get a personalised experience when you visit the site again. You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most browsers accept cookies automatically, but you can usually change your settings not to accept cookies if you prefer. If you choose to let your computer accept cookies, you can also choose to log in to the website automatically, which will speed up the checkout process.

RIKKI websites use cookies to help you get a personalised internet experience on our website and in our marketing campaigns. For example, on the site we use “session cookies” to manage your visit to any of the RIKKI websites, such as which pages you visit, which products you look at or which products you put in your basket. You can easily disable the use of cookies and delete your cookie history in your web browser. Session cookies are deleted from your hard drive when all browser windows are closed. Disabling cookies will mean that you will not get the full experience of RIKKI’s websites and e-commerce systems. If you disable session cookies for any RIKKI website, you will not be able to make a purchase. We also use cookies that will remain on your computer after you have closed the browser. This type of cookie helps our system recognise that you have visited the site before and remember which settings and products you have preferred. To help us with this process, we use third-party cookies. These cookies are from our partners and help us provide you with a more personalised experience. These cookies have a lifespan of between 1 month and up to 10 years. After that time, they will be deleted automatically (you can delete them earlier by clearing your browser’s cookie history). RIKKI uses these cookies to give you a better shopping experience by providing a more personalised website, advertising and newsletters, and to help optimise our websites by seeing what our customers like and which areas we can improve.

Google Analytics

RIKKI websites use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies to help the website analyse how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.
