Summary of the steps to follow

The ring works with Revolut Visa, or with the Curve instant card that allows you to direct the spending of the ring directly to any Spanish card you have.

1. If you already have a Revolut or Curve Visa card, you can go directly to Fidesmo to register the card. Fidesmo is a tool certified by Visa and MasterCard that allows you to record the card details on the ring. The Fidesmo link is personal to each customer and you will find it in the confirmation email that we send you once you have placed your ring order.

2. If you don't have a Revolut Visa or Curve card, you have to create a Curve card, which is instantly issued. This card redirects the spending made with the ring to the card of the traditional bank you are a customer of. Don't forget to enter the Curve or Revolut card in Fidesmo. Fidesmo is a tool certified by Visa and MasterCard that allows you to record the card details on the ring. The Fidesmo link is personal to each customer and you will find it in the confirmation email we send you once you have ordered the ring.

How to create a Curve card

Curve is an instant-issue card that allows you to direct the cost of the ring directly to any Spanish card you have. This card redirects the cost of the ring to the card of the traditional bank you are a customer of.

Here's how to create a Curve card:

1. Download the Curve app

Curve for iOS

Curve for Android

2. Create an account on Curve

Curve

Open the app and click 'Continue' to register your data

Curve

Verify your mobile number

Curve

Confirm your email

Curve

Define the password to access your account in the app

Curve

Provide your personal details: First name, first and second surname. It is important that you use exactly the same details that appear on your identity document.

Curve

Give your address so they can send you the physical card

Curve

Associate your first bank card with the one you will use to make payments for the ring

Curve

To combat money laundering, European regulations require you to identify yourself when making payments of more than €1,000 with the same card, so we recommend that you do not skip this step.

You will need to upload photos of your ID (ID, driving license, passport or residence permit) on both sides, and then take a selfie as proof of life. Once you send them, Curve will verify them and, after a few minutes, give you the result of the review.

Curve

Choose the Curve card. Pay attention, Curve has several plans, one free and the rest paid. The free plan is the blue card. With the blue card you only have to pay €4.99, which we have already discounted when you buy the ring.

VERY IMPORTANT!

Please do not activate your virtual card on your phone (Samsung Wallet, GPay or iPhone Pay) or your physical card before activating the ring. That is, wait for the ring to arrive at your home, activate it with the QR that we will attach to the ring and then, if you want, you can activate the Curve card in the phone wallet or the physical card when it arrives. If you activate Curve in the phone wallet or the physical card before activating the ring, you will not be able to activate the ring afterwards and you will have to start the setup process again.

Curve

Once you have completed these steps, you will have created the Curve card and associated your bank card. With the free plan you can associate a second card.

Curve

VERY IMPORTANT!

Remember well, in Account/Card details you will find these important data:

  1. The data you must register on your ring through our Fidesmos gateway
  2. The PIN you must enter at the POS terminal when it asks for it. Do not enter your bank card PIN because it will not work.

Linking the card to your ring

For your ring to work, you need to register your Revolut Visa or Curve card to it. Here's how to do this.

This link will take you to our online store so you can begin the card registration process.

    3. Do you have a Revolut Visa or Curve card?

    Rikki, Curve or Revolut

If you already have a Revolut Visa or Curve card, you can link it directly using our payment gateway.

If you do not have any of these cards, you must register a Curve card. In the How to create a Curve card option we explain how to do it.

    4. Follow the steps indicated by our Fidesmo gateway

    Rikki with Curve

Clicking on the 'I have a Revolut Visa or Curve card' button will open the secure gateway of our partner Fidesmo (certified by Visa and Mastercard) so you can start the registration process.

You must provide the following information:

    1. Email address provided in the Curve app when registering the card. By default, the email address of the person who purchased the ring is provided, but this may be different from the person who will use it.
    2. Revolut or Curve card details. Remember that for the Curve card, you can get this data in 'Account' / 'Card details'.

Once this is done, accept the conditions and click 'Next'

    18. Card linked to the ring

    Rikki with Curve

When you get to this screen, it means that the Curve card has now been linked to your ring and we can now send it to you. Congratulations!

    Other questions about bank cards

Is the card linking system secure?

Yes, absolutely. At Rikki we use the Fidesmo Pay gateway with SSL security, which is the level of security required for bank transactions. In addition, at Rikki we are authorized by Visa and Mastercard to offer payment rings.

Never provide your card details to agents of unknown origin.

    I have an ING card

If you want to link an ING card to Curve, you must first contact your bank's support service to authorize this transaction. Authorization is required by ING because Curve (CRV) is a London bank with a European license in Lithuania, a rare situation for the bank. To do so, the bank must change the rules of your card for a few hours (or as long as you request), however, the transaction is completely safe and the rules of your card will be restored to the situation before the transaction was made.

What happens if the card expires?

Don't worry. If your bank card expires, or your Curve card expires, it will automatically update to your ring when you renew. You won't need to change rings or re-link the card.

If you want to change your bank card

Curve lets you make changes whenever and wherever you want.

I'm using Curve, what PIN should I use when the POS asks for it?

If you are using a Curve card, the PIN you must use is the one from the Curve card itself, DO NOT use the one from your associated bank card because you will get an error. To find out this PIN, open the app, go to the bottom menu 'Account' and under the card icon you will see the option 'Card details'. Click on this option and then click on 'PIN'.

    How to unlock Curve PIN?

If you have entered your Curve PIN incorrectly more than twice, it is likely that it has been blocked. In order to unblock your PIN, you need to write to Curve via the app. To do this:
    Go to Curve, click on
Account/Help Center and Chat (bottom right)
Once in Chat, choose Card Issues/My Curve Card/Card not working
    And he writes:

    I have blocked my PIN
Then click on "No, I still need help"
    And he writes:
I have blocked my PIN. As I live in Spain I cannot unblock it directly in an ATM. Please, unblock my PIN and confirm. Thank you

How to pay with your Rikki

    Rikki, NFC readers

Take a good look at these two images, they illustrate where NFC readers are usually found in payment terminals and how to place your hand to pay.

    1. Locate the NFC reader on the payment terminal

    Rikki, hear a beep

Your ring works with an NFC (Near Field Communication) chip, that is, with a chip designed so that it can only be detected at a very short distance (3 to 5 cm).
Like any bank card, in order for the terminal to read it, you must bring the ring close to the NFC reader on the device. NFC readers usually have two different positions, look carefully at the illustrations above.
When you go to pay, first find out where the terminal's NFC reader is.

    2. The hand gesture

    Rikki, the hand gesture

Place your hand over the NFC reader as if you were going to knock on a door (but do it gently, please).
Do not force other hand positions because it will make it difficult to detect the ring antenna.

    3. Purchase made

    Rikki, sign of payment made

When you hear a beep (sometimes it's very soft), remove your hand and wait for the receipt to print.

AH! Get used to the WOW effect of those around you, it's normal for them to be amazed.

    After sales service

    Ring warranty

The ring has a 1 year warranty, so as long as you don't break it, we can exchange it during this period.

    Wrong size

It is normal that you do not know the size of your finger, so if you do not get it right when you measure it, no problem, we will change it for you.

In this case, you only have to contact us to make the change, you do not need to fill out any form and the return costs are at our expense (only one change of size).

    Service coverage

The price of the ring includes:

    • Cost of the physical Curve card (€4.99).
